The term “slot” may also refer to:

Slot is a type of gambling game that uses reels to display symbols and pay out credits when winning combinations line up. Players activate the machine by inserting cash or, in “ticket-in, ticket-out” machines, a paper ticket with a barcode into a designated slot on the machine. The reels then spin and, if the symbols match those on the pay table, the player receives credit based on the amount specified in the pay table. The symbols vary by machine, but classic symbols include fruits, bells and stylized lucky sevens. Most slot games have a theme, and bonus features and payouts are aligned with the theme. The pay tables are typically displayed on the machine’s front, or, in video slots, within a help menu.
